1. World’s Best Job: fantastic ROI on the whole campaign, for which video was just one part – albeit a major one.
2. Ikea Showroom: launched to coincide with a campaign being run through Facebook, this video introduced a concept and competition that went on to be amazing successful.
3. Socialnomics: created by Erik Qualman to promote his book and himself, the video and book arrived at the right time to tap into a growing desire to understand – in simple terms – the world of social networking and social media.
4. Inspired Bicycles. Very subtle use of the brand, but a video that you want to keep watching as the tricks keep getting better and better!
5. Piano Stairs: made for Volkswagen, you won’t see a single car in this ad, but it’s a fantastic idea that makes you think ‘damn, I wish I’d thought of that!’
6. HD Camera trick: How did they do that? This ad for Samsung created a huge amount of chatter and theories as to how they pulled off the trick. Can you figure it out?
7. Mini Clubman: needs sound so you can hear the commentary, but a clever take on the ‘viral’
8. Where the hell is Matt? Originally not related to any product, this dancing sensation ended up re-creating his journey to promote (amongst other things) chewing gum.
9. Dove Evolution: one of a few very successful Dove campaigns, all based around the theme of natural beauty and ‘real women’, this one showcases the effort that goes into making someone up for a photo shoot and into an advert.
